ChatHealth Terms and Conditions / Privacy

Confidentiality
We do not usually inform parents, teachers or anyone else when a young person messages a school nurse through the ChatHealth number. We might inform someone if we were concerned about the young person’s safety, but we would usually speak to them first.

All messages are delivered to a secure website which could be seen by other healthcare staff who follow the same confidentiality rules. All messages should get an immediate bounce-back message to confirm we have received the text. This will also explain where the young person can get help if the question or concern is urgent, and when they can expect a response.

Opening Hours
During school term time, the ChatHealth service is available from 10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays, and we aim to respond to messages within 24 hours. During school holidays, the service is available from 10am to 4pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (excluding bank holidays) and we aim to respond to messages within 48 hours.

Texts will not be seen outside of normal working hours. For medical help and advice outside of these hours, users are advised to call their GP, visit an NHS Walk-in Centre or call 111, or dial 999 or visit A&E if it is an emergency.

Contacting ChatHealth
The ChatHealth number - 07507 332 631 - is for text messaging only and does not receive voice calls or MMS picture messages. We support messaging from UK mobile numbers only (which does not include messages sent from landlines, international mobile numbers and some 'number masking' mobile apps).

To prevent the school nurse from sending messages, text STOP to 07507 332 631. If texting during school hours, we request that users respect their school’s mobile phone policy. Messages are charged at the usual rate but are free with an inclusive text package.
