While many doctors choose to live in Wolverhampton itself or commute from Birmingham, the hospital does offer accommodation based at New Cross.

There is a shuttle that runs regularly between New Cross and Cannock Chase Hospital . Arriva buses call regularly at the hospital and access to major transport hubs are within easy reach.

There is a large retail park with a supermarket, restaurants and bars, a cinema, trampolining park and fitness centre and swimming pool adjacent to the hospital at New Cross and within walking distance.

Wolverhampton city centre is a short taxi ride from the hospital and offers over 600 shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. As the 2nd largest city in the UK Birmingham remains a popular choice amongst junior doctors for downtime and is just over 15 minutes away on the train. Birmingham offers a wide range of stylish stores in the Bullring and Mailbox, historic markets and a world famous Jewellery Quarter, as well as a large variety of restaurants (some Michelin stars) and nightlife.

The hospital also has a choir that you are welcome to join.

The trust produces a regular magazine called Trust Talk to keep you up to date with what's happening at your work place.

You can follow the trust on twitter as it keeps you abreast of the events and developments around the trust @RWT_NHS

There are multiple catering options within the hospital including Greggs and other hospital-based outlets in the Urgent Treatment Centre, Cardiology and maternity and Deansley Centre. Hot food is also available at lunchtimes in the dining facility at Wolverhampton Medical Institute
