Clinical Fellowship Programme for Doctors

The programme is suitable for UK and international doctors seeking clinical experience, a high quality training programme, enhanced qualifications and career progression.

Posts will be offered equivalent to the Core Medical Training, Specialist Registrar grades or Consultant equivalent according to experience.

Applications are invited for Clinical Fellow posts to work across medical and surgical specialties. Appointments are for 1-3 years. 

Who Can Apply?

Posts will be offered equivalent to the Core Medical Training, Specialist Registrar grades or Consultant equivalent according to experience. 

Successful applicants will work in a dynamic friendly environment within a multi-disciplinary team.

The posts will be tailored to suit doctors at several stages of their career including:   

  • Post Foundation and Core Medical Trainees seeking next step experience       
  • Specialist Trainees seeking out of programme experience, attainment of specific expertise, credentialing in a subspecialty and project or research opportunities         
  • Overseas doctors seeking UK NHS experience 
  • Doctors seeking to enhance their portfolio to gain entry to the training grades
  • Doctors who seek to progress to Consultant grade by applying for the Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) 
  • Doctors already in Non-training Grade positions e.g. SAS doctors or Trust Fellows who are seeking a formal educational structure to their posts and wish to pursue higher qualifications built in to the these posts

  • Associate membership of The University of Wolverhampton Academic Institute of Medicine 
  • Access to a fully funded Masters qualification through the University Of 
  • Support to pursue Royal College Membership examinations in chosen specialty
  • Vast clinical experience in a range of specialties with supportive consultant supervision
  • Specific programme of protected teaching and a wide range of other clinical training activities including Core Curriculum Teaching, PACES teaching, a weekly grand round and departmental specific meetings
  • Access to a range of educational resources provided by the University of Wolverhampton 
  • Mentoring and coaching services
  • Full range of support services from our Revalidation support office
  • Access to an e-Portfolio
  • Keynote speaker lectures
