What Physiotherapy services are offered?
All patients are fully assessed by a member of the physiotherapy team and then an individualised program will be developed.
Treatments may include hydrotherapy, individual and group gym sessions, individual therapy sessions, acupuncture and personalised home exercise programmes. If appropriate assessment may include the provision of a suitable walking aid. We offer education and advice on postural management, exercise, pain relieving modalities including hot/cold treatment and TENS.
There is also a specific physiotherapy led injection clinic combining joint injections with a rehabilitation package.
We are involved within the Inflammatory Back Pain service and run a clinic for review and assessment of Ankylosing Spondylitis patients at both sites.
Newly Diagnosed Inflammatory arthritis patients will be offered appointments to see both physiotherapy and occupational therapy as part of the Treat to Target clinic pathway.
We offer peer support with our out of hour’s exercise groups. Patients require referral to these groups from their GP or physiotherapist.
We accept referrals for physiotherapy from Consultants and members of the rheumatology team. We also accept GP referrals for a course of hydrotherapy.
