I graduated from London, had my registrar training in West Midlands and I joined the trust in 2013. My liver training was at the liver transplant unit in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. Whilst at Birmingham, I undertook an MD looking at non-invasive markers of liver fibrosis including the use of transient elastography (Fibroscan). I am involved in research from local through to international levels and review papers for international journals as well as being well published. I have clinical trials experience from inception through to eventual publication. I teach and examine medical students from the University of Birmingham, and am involved in junior doctor teaching. I am also a clinical and educational supervisor for junior doctors at the trust.
My sub-specialty interest is hepatology (liver medicine) and am the trust lead for liver medicine. This includes viral, auto-immune, alcoholic and metabolic liver disease as well as other forms of acute and chronic liver disease. I also run the prison outreach service for the three local large prisons.
My endoscopic competencies are gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
