With 450 patients through our Emergency Department every day, 120 ambulances, 32 majors cubicles, a dedicated Paediatric Emergency Department and a range of inpatient services across New Cross, West Park and Cannock Chase hospitals, there’s so many opportunities.
Emergency and Medicine, known internally as Division 2, has 15 directorates providing a range of hospital services that sit under six groups:
- Emergency and Urgent Care Services
- Haematology, Oncology and Palliative Care
- Older Adult Medicine and Rehabilitation
- Stroke, Neurology and Capacity
- Renal and Diabetes
- Gastroenterology and Respiratory

There’s no such thing as a typical day – no two days are the same. You will get involved in all aspects of patient care, from administering medication and handling admissions to responding to medical emergencies and supporting with referrals and discharges.

You need to be a registered nurse or a student nurse who is about to qualify. We will teach you the rest.
The normal process for applying for a role at the Trust is completing an application form via the NHS jobs website and an interview.
However, if you are able to attend one of our recruitment fairs, we may be able to fast track the recruitment process by interviewing you on the day, as well as showing you around some of our services and departments.
