As part of National Pathology Week, today we chat to Natalie Worton, Senior Biomedical Scientist, Cellular Pathology, Black Country Pathology Services.
What makes your specialism important?
“Andrology is the medical specialty that deals with male health, particularly relating to the problems of the reproductive and the urological system in men,” said Natalie.
“We provide a result from a simple semen test which provides a starting point for a couple’s fertility assessment.”
Why did you opt to follow a path in Andrology?
“There are very interesting unique techniques used to help couples with their fertility journey.”
Why is National Pathology Week important?
“It highlights the roles within Pathology and also highlights the importance of the laboratory roles in the treatment of patients.”
