£1 Million Investment in X-Ray Department

The X-ray department at Cannock Chase Hospital has undergone a £1 million refurbishment.
All three X-ray rooms and the mobile X-ray machine have been replaced with the latest digital technology.

This will benefit patients by providing shorter examination time, improved image quality, and reduced radiation doses.
The department has also benefited from a refurbished reception area, and additional patient changing facilities. This includes a sub-waiting area to help preserve patients’ privacy and dignity.
Janice Swan, Superintendent Radiographer at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, said: “We needed to upgrade all the X-ray equipment at Cannock Chase Hospital to the latest digital technology.

“The new technology allows patients to benefit from a significant amount of improvements. This includes shorter examination time, improved image quality, and reduced radiation doses.
“We are really happy with the refurbishment – the department looks great.
“We have been fully supported by Philips Health Systems UK during this vital implementation and look to develop this relationship going forward.

The X-ray department is situated on Level 2 of Cannock Hospital. The team offer an open access service to GP patients who have a request for an X-ray, no appointment is necessary for this.
They also provide a service for out patients, in patients and operating theatres.
