There were more than 500 nominations from patients and staff members, showing the high quality care the Trust delivers.

The Royal Awards celebrate those teams and individuals that go above and beyond our normal high expectations for positive patient care and experience.

This year's awards presentations were held at a glittering celebration evening at Grand Station in Wolverhampton on Friday (June 7th).

David Loughton, Chief Executive of RWT, said: “Celebrating the excellent work our staff do is always something that I am proud and honoured to do.

“I believe the huge number of nominations from both patients and colleagues truly reflects the outstanding efforts of our exceptional staff to provide the best possible quality of care to patients.

“Our Royal Awards evenings are always one of the highlights of my diary and I really enjoy attending the celebrations.

“The award finalists represent what we aspire to be every single day of the year; kind and caring, safe and effective and exceeding expectations.

“When I looked at the nominations for the past year I was amazed and humbled by the work carried out across all levels of the Trust. It is further testament to the togetherness we have across all sites and the communities we serve.

“I am extremely proud to be CEO of RWT - it is a fantastic place to work with brilliant people. Many congratulations to all the award winners.”

Paul Smith, head of security and car parking, said: “We all are truly humbled and honoured to be recognised not once but twice at the Royal Awards.

“I feel very proud of the work that the team has achieved this year.

“There have been some very challenging incidents that the team have had to deal with, but have done so with amazing bravery, courage and professionalism.

“The work the entire team has undertaken is all for one goal, to show our patients and staff that we are truly committed to making the Trust a safer place for all.”
