Staff from Lloyds Banking Group raised money and collected gifts for patients at New Cross Hospital.
A Mother’s Day and Father’s Day appeal was launched by kind-hearted staff at the local Lloyds bank for the benefit of parents on the Neonatal Ward and the Deansely Ward.
Staff raised enough money to buy 300 gifts, which were all hand-wrapped before being distributed to parents.
As well as surprising patients with gifts, Lloyds staff also raised money to donate to the Neonatal and Snowdrop Wards to spend where they feel necessary. This time the money was raised by having a tasty samosa sale and by having a ‘dress down day’.
Lloyds Manager Claire Benton said: “It was such a pleasure to visit both wards and to meet the patients and see the difference it made to them. All patients and staff were so overwhelmed by the generosity of the token gift.”
Manager Jo Head said: ‘’From our personal perspective we find the opportunity to give back very rewarding although we can say the inspirational work of the dedicated team of staff, when combined with the sheer bravery of the patients we have had the honour of meeting, it gives us a renewed sense of perspective and pride.’’
Leanne Bood, Fundraising Coordinator for the Trust Charity said: “Thank you to Lloyds for their continued support. Their generous donations have really made a difference to the experiences of patients and their families. There are lots of different ways that local businesses can get involved and support us with our work. For more information, please contact us on 01902 447293 or email@example.com
