Wolverhampton and District Sunday Football League have shown their support for a summer activity programme designed to give young patients and their families a boost at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust.
Phil Reade and Terry Shinton from the League presented a cheque for £500 to the Royal Wolverhampton Trust Charity, which will go towards organising fun, interactive activities for young patients of all abilities.
The programme is due to start on July 30th and will last four weeks. Each week will have a different theme, including ‘safety’, ‘nutrition’, ‘getting active’ and ‘fun week’.
West Midlands Police and Fire Service and Public Health England are among the list of professionals who will be lending a hand throughout the four week period.
Phil Reade, Secretary of Wolverhampton and District Sunday Football League, said: “It was our pleasure to support the hospital again following our recent donation to cardiac."
Leanne Bood, Fundraising Coordinator, said: “Thank you to Phil, Terry and all of the other members for their support. The funds will go a long way in helping children and young people in hospital or attending out-patient appointments to enjoy summer."
