Robotic surgery techniques pioneered by surgeons at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton have been showcased during a visit by MP Rob Marris.
The Labour member for Wolverhampton South West spoke to Consultant Surgeon Mr Peter Cooke and Consultant Urologist Mrs Jayne Boddy about the Da Vinci Surgical System installed by The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust in 2011.
It is now used to carry out several different procedures including hysterectomies and bladder surgery. Specialists at the hospital share best practice with colleagues across the world.
Trust Chief Executive David Loughton said: “We were delighted to welcome Rob to see what we're doing to advance robotic surgical techniques which are benefiting patients with a wide variety of complaints.”
