Paediatric Services Transfer to The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust

Date of release: Friday 15th May, 2015

The transfer of paediatric services to The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT) from the former Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust will take place from Monday May 18.

From next week the services will be split between RWT and University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust.

Some children with long term conditions will transfer to RWT on Monday to continue receiving their care, with out-patient clinics being held at Cannock Hospital so services can be provided closer to patients’ homes.

As part of the integration RWT will also be welcoming new staff members to the team. The Trust will be welcoming to the team two experienced paediatric consultants, one middle grade doctor, four qualified children’s nurses, a play specialist, a healthcare assistant and one administration staff.

Sultan Mahmud, Integration Programme Director for RWT, said: “Many months of planning has taken place to ensure the smooth transition of services from MSFT and the children’s directorate is looking forward to welcoming these patients and staff into the service.
