Library fundraisers buy toys and games for children's ward

Library fundraisers buy toys and games for children’s ward

Date of release: Friday 4th December, 2015

Christmas came early for young patients on the Children’s Ward at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT) after library staff handed hundreds of pounds worth of computer gaming gear and toys.

They raised the money with coffee mornings, cake and book sales, as well as collecting from staff.

Money went straight into making hospital stays more fun for the youngest patients, buying X-Box 360 games, an extra Playstation controller, Lego Star Wars games packs and other toys for younger children.

Over £900 of funds raised by the library team were divided betwen the Children’s Ward, Neonatal Unit and the Deanesley Centre.

Library staff, who even gave up their Secret Santa this year to donate money to the Trust Charity, are now planning their next round of fundraising.
