Date of release: Tuesday 28th October, 2014
The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust’s Chaplaincy Department and Looking After Parents and Siblings (LAPS) Group have arranged an annual babies memorial service, which this year will be taking place on Sunday 2nd November 2014, at 3.00pm in St Joseph’s Church, Willenhall Road, Wolverhampton. WV1 2QN.
The Annual Babies’ Memorial Service will take place to remember all those babies who have died.
Father Craig Fullard, Team Leader from RWT Chaplaincy Department, said: “The sheer numbers who attend this service each year is itself proof of how important it is to parents and their families.
"The numbers attending in recent years has meant that last year we needed to change the venue to st. Joseph’s church, even then the church was full. The service will once again include the lighting of candles along with the names of little ones being remembered out loud.
"We believe the service is an important moment in the year when people are able to gather and remember their little ones with love."
Father Fullard added: "Together with our local wolverhampton sands group we would like to once more invite those who have lost a little one, whether this year or many years ago, to come and remember them with us at our annual service.
"At the end of the service a presentation of £1,000 will be made to the hospital charity by members of St. Joseph’s church who have raised the money for the charity during the last year."
LAPS is a registered charity run by staff and based at New Cross Hospital. As an act of remembrance babies' names will be read out during the service and candles lit. Everyone is welcome.
If anyone would like further information or are unable to attend but would like their baby’s name remembered, please telephone the Chaplaincy Department at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton. Telephone 01902 695098.
