Information on industrial action

Date of release: 10 March 2023

Junior doctors will be taking part in industrial action from 7am on Monday 13 March until 7am on Thursday 16 March.

Accessing our services

  • If you need medical advice, please go to NHS 111 online, unless it is a life-threatening situation when you should still call 999.
  • Our Emergency Departments are open but waiting times may be longer than normal. We will continue to see patients in order of clinical priority – those with emergency, life-threatening conditions will be seen first.
  • If your condition does not require immediate attention, please consider using alternative services, including your local pharmacy, GP or Urgent Treatment Centre.

You can find out more about services local to you by visiting the NHS website.

Attending an appointment or procedure

Whilst we are doing all we can to minimise any impact, we may have to cancel some planned appointments and procedures to ensure we continue to provide safe and effective care to patients who are in hospital.

If we have not contacted you, you should attend your appointment as planned. If your appointment or procedure needs to be rescheduled, we will contact you directly and will rearrange as soon as possible.
