Latest News: Ladies strike a pose for fundraising calendar

A frequent supporter of The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Charity has raised almost £2,000 for the Trust’s specialist cancer centre. Cheryl Finch, from Willenhall, decided to create calendars in memory of her friends who worked at the Trust; Michelle Matthews and Julie McCarron. The calendars feature some of her female Facebook friends who responded to an appeal to model.

2020 is the Year of the Nurse and the Midwife and we’re celebrating the occasion with spotlights on some of our own staff members! Each month we’ll be talking to one midwife and one nurse - chatting about their career and what they love most about their role. Say hello to our first nurse - Our first midwife is Jo Newnes, who works on New Cross Hospital’s maternity wards.

Health systems around the world are battling with issues of accessibility and affordability of healthcare, whilst facing ever-rising levels of chronic disease and severe workforce shortages. To tackle this The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT) and Babylon are launching a 10-year partnership to develop a new healthcare delivery model of ‘Digital-First Integrated Care’, for 300,000 people across Wolverhampton and its surrounding areas.


Latest News: Monthly Bereavement Hub Coming to RWT
From Monday, 2 March 2020, we will be providing a monthly bereavement hub based at New Cross Hospital. This is a joint partnership with Compton Care and uses the established Compassionate Communities model. Trained volunteers will facilitate the hub which is offered as a means of support to anyone affected by loss or grief, and offer a friendly place to meet and talk to others who share similar experiences.

Latest News: One Million Pound Investment in X-ray Department 1

The X-ray department at Cannock Chase Hospital has undergone a £1 million refurbishment. All three X-ray rooms and the mobile X-ray machine have been replaced with the latest digital technology. This will benefit patients by providing shorter examination time, improved image quality, and reduced radiation doses. The department has also benefited from a refurbished reception area, and additional patient changing facilities.

Latest News: RWT is Now Smoke Free for Staff

We are delighted to announce The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT) is now smoke free for staff, as of today! Support for patients and visitors is in development ahead of a totally smoke free Trust in October 2020. David Loughton CBE, Chief Executive for the Trust, said: “As a healthcare organisation we have a duty to protect our employees, and those in our care, from preventable illness."
