RWT offers work experience opportunities for applicants aged 16 and above, ranging from one day to a full week, observing roles within the Trust. From Estates to Eye Infirmary, Research & Development to Radiology and Dermatology to Dietetics.
Due to increasing requests from the local community, work experience will be offered on a case-by-case basis and placement availability.
The weeks available for individuals to apply for a placement are outlined below and there will be a limited number of placements per week.
An online application form will be available from the dates outlined in the table for you to be able to apply. Please note any applications received outside of these dates, will not be accepted.

Applicants will be notified of the result of their application within 4 week of the application closing date. If applicants are successful they will receive an email informing them of next steps. Unsuccessful applicants will also receive an email.

All work experience opportunities are subject to:-
- A Health Assessment Clearance – Please ensure you submit evidence of BCG and two MMR vaccinations to your application form. Hepatitis B immunisation may be required dependent upon the area/department you choose. Please either provide a stamped copy from your GP OR a copy of your Red immunisation book. Work Experience cannot commence until health assessment clearance has been confirmed. If you do not have the necessary evidence, please ring for further guidance before submitting your application
- Availability of a work experience supervisor within the department requested

Due to the demand for work experience out weighing the opportunities available, bespoke Career Insight days have been developed in the following disciplines.
These sessions are aimed to encourage young people who are interested in subjects such as Health and Social Care, STEM or Sport to consider a career in Health. They are designed and run in conjunction with universities and medical schools.
