Welcome to the Postgraduate Medical Education department at Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. The department provides educational support and guidance to the doctors in training based at New Cross Hospital Wolverhampton, West Park Hospital Wolverhampton, Cannock Chase Hospital Cannock and those on community placements within the local area. Our aim is to ensure that the trainees based with us at the Trust receive the best educational experience possible.
The department Is responsible for coordinating and the safe delivery of all postgraduate medical education. This covers all Drs in Training, IMT, Specialty Trainees and Foundation Trainees. Also managed by the team is Drs induction and Drs study leave.
Each specialty at the Trust has a college tutor who will be available to offer support, guidance and careers advice to those trainees within that specialty, the tutor will liaise regularly with the appropriate postgraduate school ensuring the delivery of the relevant curriculum. Will also operate as link to the relevant postgraduate school.
Trainees wellbeing is at the forefront of our department and we offer support when needed and offer an open door policy at all times.
Bi-monthly postgraduate medical education committee meetings are held, all tutors and educational leads are invited to attend.
