Allied Health Professionals: Orthotics

What is unique about working in orthotics at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust?

Our service is nationally recognised for the research it produces in orthotics, we encourage our staff to get involved in research and have an active international portfolio of peer reviewed research, with several active research projects.

Our service manager recently became the first NHS Consultant Orthotist which emphasises the Trust’s commitment to career progression within the orthotics and the value it places on their unique skills.

Orthotists at RWHT are an equal and valued member of our multi-disciplinary team and work closely with our orthopaedic team, physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, oncology team and many others.

We place huge emphasis on education and learning within our team. We have a team of 7 orthotists of differing skill mixes; we have fortnightly journal clubs where we critique research papers, fortnightly patient case discussions and monthly dedicated CPD sessions alongside ad hoc invited external presentations.
