A recent review was undertaken by CHKS (on behalf of The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust) of the Clinical Coding Department.
They examined plans and processes to:
- understand what improvements have been put in place during a period of three financial years from 2012/13 to 2014/15; review audit reports undertaken over the three year period and their recommendations; and
- assess the action plans following the audit recommendations and their progress.
The trust has made improvements in all areas over the last three years, based on the documentary evidence supplied and interviews with Trust staff.
For further information, download the full report (linked below), which includes details of improvements that have been made at the Trust, together with recommendations and an action plan to focus on improving the effectiveness of the coding department and plans to support delivery of the plan.
