Royal Awards 2016 - the winners!

The Royal Awards celebrate those teams and individuals that go above and beyond our normal high expectations for positive patient care and experience.

This year's Awards presentations were held at a gala evening on April 7th.

From the introduction by our CEO, David Loughton CBE:

"Our Royal Awards evenings are always one of the highlights of the year and I am delighted to be here again and to welcome you all to this celebration of all that is good about the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust.

"At this Trust, we promise that we will always be kind and caring, safe and effective and that we will always exceed expectations. These are our values.

"They represent what we aspire to be every single day of the year and all the individuals and teams that we recognise here tonight have represented these values in providing the high quality, safe healthcare our patients deserve.

"When I look at the nominations for the past year I am amazed and humbled by the work our staff carry out across all levels of the Trust. It is further testament to the togetherness we have across all sites and in the communities we serve.

"The stories we will hear tonight are about going the extra mile, about care and compassion and the are truly inspirational.

"I am extremely proud to be CEO of RWT. It is a fantastic place to work with fantastic people. Tonight is a celebration of all that we stand for."

"The staff promote patients' independence, resulting in a low number of falls, pressure ulcers and hospital-acquired infections. Patients have a shorter length of stay and fewer patients require social care packages or rehabilitation.

Neil is the example of an outstanding ward nurse; his attention to detail is magnificent and he is very good at training nurses in his detailed method."
